An inner city mixed use development, now complete, Emporium has proved the commercial and strategic value of well conceived mixed use development in the Brisbane market.
Winner of multiple industry awards, the Emporium development started with the insight that realised there was unmet demand for a fusion of retail, residential and commercial uses in an ‘urban village’ environment.
The residential component provides 232 apartments in a mix of styles in a mix of building forms. There are over 35 specialty retailers operating from Emporium and an office tower of 49,000 square metres NLA. The precinct is now the Queensland headquarters for both John Holland Group & Bechtel.
The retail selection within the precinct is a shopper's dream. Traders like Ollie & Lloyd, Alla Moda, Jean Brown, Lotus 76 and Carmague, to name just a few, making this precinct a one stop shop. Emporium has also seen its many restaurants become celebrated for their variety and popularity. Belle Époque, Mecca Bah, Capri, Depot, Freestyle Tout, Wagamama and Bistro Three - some of the best in Brisbane - are all located with the precinct.
The success of the Emporium concept built on previous experience within the Anthony John Group and took this to a new level. Commercial successful, aesthetically pleasing, and praised by the community, government, industry, residents and tenants alike, Emporium is a model development – the lessons from which the Anthony John Group are ready to apply to other strategically located inner city sites.
The apartments were all sold or under contract prior to completion, and the retail space was pre leased. The 10,000 square meter office tower, completed in 2007, was 100% prereleased to Bechtel.
The award winning and much celebrated Emporium Hotel opened in 2007. This 106 bed boutique Hotel has set a new benchmark in Brisbane accommodation. The Emporium Hotel has already been named in the 12th Annual Condé Nast Traveller’s Hot List 2008. Multiple prestigious awards have followed.
