This site was identified by the Queensland Government as one of eight future TOD sites for primary consideration within the SEQ region (The South East Queensland Regional Plan 2005-2026). It offers unique access to three major public transportation corridors including Brisbane’s metropolitan railway network, the South East busway and future Eastern busway. The main site (Site A) is has the Buranda railway station on its northern boundary and the Buranda bus station located on the western boundary. It also includes Gillingham Street, which is proposed to be closed off and included in the development site. The smaller site (Site B) is located on the corner of Cowley Street and Logan Road.

The proposed development consists of eight towers in total, four of these being substantial towers of 25 storeys in height. The development mix will provide close to 800 apartments, office space, retail, a hotel and related community facilities.

The location is only 3 kilometres from the CBD and is surrounded by affluent inner city locations now the subject of intense homebuyer and commercial interest, due to the city proximity and the value placed on existing transport infrastructure.

The Boulevard at Buranda has in principle approval from relevant planning authorities, with full approval of the current scheme expected in early 2010.
